Continuing Education Program
CIR has established a Continuing Education (CE) Program to expand the capacity of experienced behavioral healthcare providers who wish to strengthen their effectiveness in working with military-impacted populations. CIR’s CE courses, a part of the Rapid and Revolutionary Response to the Needs of Wounded Warriors project, is currently offered on-ground (in the classroom) and online through USC Department of Continuing Education.
CIR’s CE Program:
- Incorporates competency-based trainings in military culture and clinical practice that provide “how to” content for improved efficacy and increased patient retention, satisfaction, and therapeutic alliance results.
- Integrates the latest empirically-supported methods of intervention and evidence-based clinical practices into its specialized simulations and content, including new and innovative teaching technologies (such as Virtual Patients and Clinical Skill Assessment measures).
- Through rigorous evaluation, CIR’s CE courses seek to improve and increase learning outcomes, provider effectiveness, therapeutic alliance, patient retention and satisfaction, as well as provide greater overall quantity and quality of behavioral healthcare for veterans and military families. CIR’s CE courses are open to behavioral healthcare providers and other professionals who wish to enhance their knowledge of the issues and challenges facing servicemembers, veterans, and their families. CEU credit hours are available for LCSWs and LMFTs. CIR offers CE courses on-ground and online.
