CIR Team

CIR currently manages operations from its offices in downtown Los Angeles, including its project management activities, administration, and much of its research. Most of CIR’s technology-related activities are conducted by its partner, the USC Institute for Creative Technologies (ICT), at their facility in West Los Angeles.

CIR relies on a strong internal organization led by seasoned military and academic leaders and is supported by highly experienced project managers, researchers, consultants, and instructors. CIR is managed by its Director, Dr. Anthony Hassan— who reports directly to the Dean of the USC School of Social Work, Dr. Marilyn Flynn — and fits simultaneously under the umbrella of the School’s Hamovitch Center for Science in the Human Services.

Dr. Hassan was appointed Clinical Associate Professor at the USC School of Social Work in 2009 and is a retired Air Force officer who contributes 25 years of experience in Military Social Work and leadership development. CIR supplements its operation with outside expertise through collaboration with consultants and experts as well as its Advisory Boards, which include members from the highest levels of academia, the U.S. Military, foundations, and the social service and healthcare communities.
